Held on Sunday 11th December 2016 this combined course was an outstanding success in several ways. Clubs from as far as Bognor Regis, Plymouth and Trowbridge in the North were represented.
Senseis Colin Putt (SKDUN) and Merv O'Donnell (Rengokai), both 8th Dans, led the classes.
For the course members it was a particularly moving occassion in that Sensei Gerry Breeze 9th Dan and perhaps the longest training and most senior Karateka in the South of England was in attendance for the afternoon lessons and Dan Grading that followed the training. (Sensei Gerry commenced his training in 1964).
William from the Portchester Karate Club took the grading exam for 1st Dan and passed. Rather a rare occasion for a 9th Dan and two 8th Dans to be on the grading panel for a first Dan. The combined length of training of the panel being some 146 years!
